On the first presentation, the Key Note session, Brad Anderson, Microsoft General Manager, has introduced several new Microsoft products and strategies focused on reduce cost, increase IT innovation, optimize processes, etc. We could view some demos about virtualization, monitoring, reporting, etc., etc., etc. and a quick presentation about the new "Microsoft outsourcing service" that consist in several MS applications (like Exchange, SharePoint, SQL or Office) that will be available online for the companies that contract the service. This strategy includes a new operating system named Azure designated to help developers to create web services and applications on the Internet.
IIS 7.0 (IIS Roadmap session) presents several difference with its antecessors, on both architecture and UI. Some things to take into account:
