I have decided to explain how to insert a Polaroid picture in your blog using Windows Live Writer. It could seem easy but you have to take into account that we are talking about a Microsoft application so it is possible that some components are not working as they should do it.
First step is to add the Polaroid Picture plug-in in your Writer.
To do it, click on the link named Add Plug-Ins (bottom-right), the Writer Plug-Ins site will appears. If you have installed your Writer in other language different from English, the site will display all available Plug-Ins for your language (just 2 ones in Spanish). So you have to select English to display all plug-ins in this language and on the fist page you should see a one named Polaroid Picture. Click on Download button, Install and then Run. Accept all default settings.
Next time that you open your Writer you could see in your Insert section (right panel) an option named Insert Polaroid Picture.
Now, insert a Polaroid picture in your post.
Click on Insert Polaroid Picture on the right panel, a Browser
window will appears. Navigate until your picture location and select it. The picture will appears in your post; if you select it, you can see how right panel change to display all options related with this picture.
You can select the Size (you have 5 predefined sizes or you can customize one).
The Caption that you can display on the (including Font type, size, color, etc.).
The grades of Tilt that you want for your picture (to right or to left).
The Text Flow enable you to align your picture.
The Style enable you to add a red or black corners to your picture.
And if you click on Change Defaults you can configure the default values that you want for your Polaroid pictures. In this way each time that you insert one on your blog this values will be applied to it, and you could change it manually if you want.
Now if you publish your post the picture will appears on it, but I had many problems on this step. I don't know why but if I customize the Tilt value (by default it has a value of 0º, so the picture is lined) the picture is not loaded to my People Pages blog and I can't see on my published post. It seems that Writer can uploaded it.
The "workaround" used by me is to publish the post with the picture lined, open your blog on your browser and ensure that you can see the picture and then edit your post from Writer and customize the picture as you want. If you publish the post again you could check that your picture is displayed as you want (with caption, with corners, tilted, etc.).
